Together We Stand UNITED as NEIGHBORS

NUFAKC is part of a movement of Kansas City, Missouri, neighborhoods rising UP to take back their neighborhood for their good.  We seek to empower fellow neighbors to live fruitful, meaningful, and collaborative lives that benefit our entire community.

To enable this to happen,  people like you are getting involved through sharing their expertise, volunteerism, and contributing however they are able to promote NUFAKC’s purpose and Mission.

Believing in Each Other

At the outset is the belief that all neighbors matter.  YOUR voice is important to NUFAKC, and must be heard.  Participating in the neighborhood’s fruitfulness begins with this simple mindset to care for your fellow neighbor.

All our social, psychological, philosophical, and spiritual enterprise begin with this simple premise, What do you do FOR and WITH your neighbor?

Geography has made us neighbors. History has made us friends. Economics has made us partners, and necessity has made us allies. Those whom God has so joined together, let no man put asunder.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

We have come to understand that poverty and public health, in many ways, are part and parcel of the same thing. The social determinants of health —things like housing, access to physical activity, quality food, safety—are all issues those of us in community development have been addressing for years, but without thinking how they effect people’s health.
