The City of Kansas City, Mo., Office of Emergency Management, in partnership with Neighbors United for Action Kansas City (NUFAKC) and DuraComm Power Supplies, is offering FREE Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training. Are you ready for the next disaster? Floods, heat waves, tornadoes and other emergencies are a fact of life. CERT training is designed to help individuals prepare themselves and assist family members and neighbors in the immediate aftermath of a major emergency.
CERT participants will understand how to prepare a family disaster plan, assemble an emergency kit, and learn basic skills to aid themselves and others following a major emergency or disaster until professional responders arrive. The class emphasizes hands on practice and concludes with a full scale exercise.
Learn what you can do to help before, during, and after the disaster we hope never happens and the smaller emergencies that happen every day. The class is offered FREE of charge to people that are age 18 and over that live or work in Kansas City, Missouri.
